George Read was one of the many signers of this document. George Read represented the state of Delaware although he was born in Maryland on September 18 , 1773. Read had many careers and jobs some being a acting governor of Delaware and he was also a member attending the Committee of Correspondence etc. In the year of 1776 was when George was asked to meet the Constitutional Convention where he then became president and signed the document. Later on in George's life his health began to decrease which led to his death on September 21, 1798.
Benjamin Franklin represented the state of Pennsylvania. He was born on January 17, 1706 and was born in Boston Massachusetts. Franklin as a child taught himself for schooling and grew up to be an intelligent man. Benjamin became a printer at age 16 and that was the beginning of all the careers that followed for instance he was the United States first Post worker General and continued working for the government. He soon began other careers like a businessman , a writer, Publisher, Scientist, and a Social Activist. Benjamin Franklin was well known by all for his incredible ideas and his knowledge. He was elected to the Continental Congress and then later signed the Declaration of Independence. He died on April 17,1790.
John Adams represented the state of Massachusetts. John Adams was born on October 30, 1775 in Braintree Massachusetts. One of the major events in his life was when he became a graduate of Harvard at the age of 26 as a lawyer. John Adams was nominated to Massachusetts Assembly in 1770. He joined first Continental Congress and signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. John Adams death date is July 4, 1826.
Thomas Jefferson represented the state of Virginia. He was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadwell Virginia. Thomas Jefferson was very intelligent considering the fact that he knew five different languages and could carry on any conversation using any of those languages. Thomas also wrote over sixteen thosand letters throughout his entire life. Thomas went to what was called William and Mary College and graduated from there as a lawyer. He was nominated over the years to the House of Burgesses in Virginia in 1769 and the House of Delegates in 1776 to 1779. Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence and the founder of the University of Virginia, forever he will be remembered for those two things. He died on July 4, 1826.
